On the Reserve where awe-inspiring sights are plentiful, one memorable experience was watching these two gentlemanly giraffes “play fighting” for dominance and the right to breed with the most females. They used their long necks and heads as maces with grace and agility, trying to unbalance their opponent! As giraffe are unable to jump whilst swinging their necks, they appeared to take turns giving and receiving blows, sorting out their differences in such a duel. Male giraffe co-exist peacefully after these confrontations, as they are not territorial animals and do not chase off the loser. These magnificent, peaceful giants are a sight to behold and will make for a memory of a lifetime.
